We’re a strong believer that fresh is best! We’re spoilt with the number of great local suppliers on our doorstep. From crab, lobster and scallops caught directly from the Bay, gin from Salcombe and eggs just up the road in Hallsands.
We’re proud to support Heron Valley, one of our favourite family-run businesses that have become a huge success, making award-winning organic juices and cider for over 15 years.
Heron Valley has a very clear plan; “we make the best possible drinks, by hand, using only ever the best ingredients, predominantly Organic. Our drinks have won a raft of national awards including Gold and Double Gold at the Great Taste Awards, and winners of The Soil Association Organic Food Awards”.
“No concentrates, water or sugars find their way into our juices, only ever whole organic apples, hand washed and pressed, before being bottled by hand and pasteurised.”
A local fisherman, born and bred in Beesands. Alan and his crew on his boat Superbus bring us the freshest seafood possible. Alan specialises in trawling Lobster and Crab and also brings us our hand dived Scallops which in our eyes are the best out there.
Alan has 7 years experience in Scalloping and has been fishing since he left school in 1986. He is very passionate about his trade, which his father Tony Steer (Winky) passed onto him alongside his trawler. Alan never fails to succeed in supplying us with amazing, local seafood which we have become very well known for.
Situated on a beautiful farm in Buckfastleigh, South Devon, Luscombe Soft Drinks have gone from strength to strength. We’re proud to support this family-run business and we’re particularly fond of the Elderflower Bubbly, one of our most popular soft drinks here at the Cricket Inn.
According to Gabriel David, the head of business, he only sources ingredients direct from growers he trusts. There are no compromises, only the best goes in the bottle.
The Cricket Inn has been using Otter’s extremely popular cask ales for a number of years.
Established in 1990 by David and Mary Ann McCaig and located on a sixteenth century farm high up in the Blackdown Hills, Otter is now one of the South West’s leading suppliers of cask conditioned beer and has been named ‘Brewery of the Year’ by the Good Pub Guide.
The site is home to the UK’s first underground eco cellar and the brewery’s aim has always been to produce commercially viable beers that are full of integrity, provenance and real character. Otter Ale, Otter Bitter, Otter Bright, Otter Head and Otter Amber are available all year round as well as several seasonal specials including Otter Claus.
