The Cricket Inn crowned Gold in South West Tourism Awards
We are absolutely delighted to have been awarded Pub of the Year at last week’s South West Tourism Awards which was held at Bristol Aerospace Museum. We were amongst 3 other finalists in the South West Pub of the Year category: The Pandora Inn in Cornwall (awarded silver), The Milbrook Inn in South Pool (awarded joint bronze) and The Cross Keys Inn in Somerset (awarded joint bronze).
It’s now our third Gold award in 2 years and it couldn’t have been achieved without the dedication and hard work of the Cricket team.
Along with the vigorous application process we also had a mystery visit from one of the judges, in full flow of the summer season. In their feedback they commented that ‘The Cricket Inn was an absolute joy from start to finish’.
The award comes just a few months after picking up Gold at the Devon Tourism Awards and retaining our AA rosette for 10 years running.
With 390 people guests booked, the awards ceremony was the biggest annual regional gathering of South West tourism businesses, with 107 different awards presented following a rigorous judging process in which a record 651 entries were considered. Before the awards commenced the audience were delighted to hear from guest speaker Bonita Norris, the World’s youngest person to climb Everest and reach the North Pole.
We now await news about the Visit England awards…
