The Area

Beesands is ideally situated to discover the South Hams of Devon located on the beach in Start Bay, with views toward Dartmouth Harbour entrance and Start Point Lighthouse (open throughout the year to visitors please check opening times). Torcross is also famous for ‘Operation Tiger’ where many American servicemen lost their lives during World War 2 practising for the D-Day landings there is a Sherman Tank and a memorial to commemorate this sad day.
